3 Russian warships arrive in Chittagong Bangladesh

Three warships of the Russian Navy arrived at the Patenga Container Terminal in Chittagong on a four-day goodwill visit. When the warships arrived at the terminal on Sunday (April 13) afternoon, Captain Shamsul Haque, Chief Staff Officer of the Chittagong Naval Region, welcomed the ship's officers and sailors.

The Russian Military, Air and Naval Attachés in Bangladesh and local high-ranking officials of the Bangladesh Navy were present at the time.

Earlier, the visiting ships were received by the naval ship Banouza Khalid Bin Walid upon their arrival in Bangladeshi waters. During their stay in Bangladesh, the captains of the visiting ships and a delegation including the Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh will pay courtesy calls on the Commander of the Chittagong Naval Region, Commander BN Fleet and the Chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority.

In addition, they will lay wreaths at Redkin Point located at the Naval Academy and visit the Navy training base and ships, BN Ashar Alo School for children with special needs, and various scenic and historical sites in Chittagong. Members of the Bangladesh Navy and students of schools run by the Navy will visit the Russian ships.

The goodwill visit will provide an opportunity for the naval officers and sailors of the two countries to exchange views on professional matters, create opportunities for future training and mutual cooperation, and further strengthen bilateral relations, said the sources. After the goodwill visit, the ships will leave Bangladesh on April 16.
